Certified Surgical Technician - L&D

Schedule: PRN Relief
Performs duties as a member of the surgical team to assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to ensure that the operative procedure goes smoothly and quickly and that a safe surgical experience is provided for the patient. Accurately completes forms, transcribes and enters information into the computer. Prepares and maintains new patient charts, processing admission, discharge, transfer, and discharge paperwork properly. Completes LDR room checks to ensure unit is properly serviced. Assists the RN prior and during delivery and in the immediate postpartum period. Activities may include duties such as: keeping notes, obtaining supplies, completing ordering of labs, patient positioning, setting up, cleaning, and tearing down of delivery tables, assisting the physician, assisting with infant care, removal of equipment, interfacing with Central Processing, and facilitating positive delivery experience. Prepares the Operating Room before each procedure, ensuring that all instrumentation and equipment needed is set up, sterile, and operational. Checks the inventory and orders supplies as needed. Takes call as a member of the rotating call schedule.

Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician course or equivalent. Certified Surgical Technologist preferred but will consider LPN with one to two years of experience working in a similar position. Current BLS required. Previous OR experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
