Supports patient care by performing clinical laboratory procedures and evaluating results. Enhances laboratory quality by participating in process improvement and maintaining professional competency. This position supports the laboratory department and reports to the laboratory supervisor

MLS Requirements:

*Baccalaureate degree with 16 hours in Biological Science, 16 hours in Chemistry and 3 hours in Mathematics, in lieu of degree, medical technology certification  (HEW) under "grandfather" clause

*Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology or equivalent as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.

*Certification by the ASCP within 6 months of employment into this position.
