We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Pharmacy Technician to join the Mountainside Team!

What You’ll Do

The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for assisting the pharmacists in the formulation, preparation, dispensing, delivery and storage of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Prepare and accurately/timely preparation of medications which may include selection, labeling, repackaging, non-sterile compounding, and sterile compounding

  • Perform accurate and timely delivery of medications to the appropriate storage locations

  • Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner

  • Deliver medications from pharmacy to patient care areas, return medications as well as other pharmacy-bound materials to the pharmacy

  • Communicate with other caregivers and patients in an effective and positive manner

  • Demonstrate emotional control and intelligence in managing work relationships

  • Attend and actively participate in team huddles and meetings.

  • Appropriately use information systems, technology, and automation to complete assigned tasks

  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Registration as Pharmacy Technician with NJ Board of Pharmacy is required

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in hospital setting or equivalent is preferred

  • Certification by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is preferred 

  • Experience in Microsoft Office, mainly Word and Excel
