We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Network Engineer.

The Sr. Network Engineer provides network engineering services for projects and maintaining and optimizing the data network infrastructure for Ardent Health Services. This encompasses updating network documentation, conducting utilization studies and the establishment of fault notification procedures. This position will work closely with other members of the Ardent technology team to support the overall mission of the company and its’ strategic business initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and Engineer the Cisco network infrastructure in Hospital, Office, and data center environments.
  • Support Network Engineers/Architects in design/implementation strategies.
  • Maintain documentation related to network layout.
  • Maintain security policies for the Cisco environment.
  • Ensure that requirements for high availability are in place for the Cisco environment.
  • Work with Other Network Engineers to develop and improve their skill sets in a positive and constructive manner.

  • Required-Associates’ degree in Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent technical training.
  • CCNP Certification Required


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working in Information Systems, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience with Cisco routing, switching and wireless products.
  • Configuration of Complex Routing protocol and High Availability WAN architecture.
  • Expert level configuration and troubleshooting experience with complex LAN Infrastructures, Ethernet, VoIP , MPLS, OSPF, and BPG networks. PVST, Ether-channel/Port Channel configuration, Dot1.Q Trunking, VTP.
  • High proficiency in the configuration and troubleshooting of advanced wireless networks including RF spectrum analysis, and interference remediation.
  • Radio Channel Planning, Wireless Bridging.
  • Cisco Nexus Architecture and configuration.

Additional Requirements

  • Highly Proficient in the operation and analysis of LAN and WAN packet captures, and Network Analysis.
  • Proficient with DNS, DHCP, WINS configuration and troubleshooting.
  • High proficiency with route summarization.
  • Cisco ASA Firewalls
  • Experience with implementing QOS/COS.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications, Voice Gateways, and UCCx platforms highly desirable.
