OUR POSITION: We have an exciting opportunity to join our Legal team as a Vice President, Operations Counsel.                                                                     

Under the general guidance and supervision of the General Counsel, the Vice President, Operations Counsel prepares and reviews a variety of complex contracts and provides legal counsel, guidance and representation to the Company and its affiliated healthcare operations as requested on complex legal and operational issues.  This role may supervise litigation, investigations and outside counsel.


  • Advise on healthcare operations, general corporate transactions, regulatory and compliance issues, employment, medical staff issues, contracting, and patient concerns.
  • Provide legal review and/or advice to facility administration; participates in the development of system policies and procedures; reviews contracts; and negotiates and facilitates transactions.
  • Supervise and direct outside legal counsel in the performance of legal services.
  • Interface with all corporate departments to provide advice on legal issues.
  • Assist with compliance investigations as needed; coordinate with Compliance Department.
  • Participate in activities that increase legal knowledge, professional expertise, and the delivery of quality legal services.  Conducts educational sessions, prepares compliance plans, prepares and facilitates implementation plans.
  • Request and utilize interdepartmental services as they pertain to the provision of legal services; establishes and maintains working relationships with all department personnel relative to the legal service function.
  • Assist in development of methods for achieving goals such as competitive bids, form agreements, reviews legal resources, and system policies within legal limits.
  • Use skill, knowledge and experience to assist the company in amicably resolving disputes with third parties. 
  • Prepare and interpret corporate documents, medical staff documents.  Prepares and interprets leases, real estate documents, and corporate documents.



  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Current license to practice law.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare law, including but not limited to, EMTALA, HIPAA, Stark, ACA, fraud and abuse, healthcare regulatory compliance, and hospital operations. 
  • Previous law firm experience a plus.
