OUR POSITION: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Systems Implementation Director.


Position Summary:

The responsibility of the Business Systems Implementation Director is to provide leadership and direction in the development and execution of an enterprise-wide new acquisition implementation and governance strategy for all Ardent business systems including Human Resources, Payroll, Finance and Supply Chain software applications.   The Business Systems Implementation Director serves as the technical lead and liaison for Business Systems related to onboarding all new business opportunities, system integrations and support.  The Business Systems Implementation Director provides leadership for internal and vendor resources. 

Provide leadership for HRIS systems from planning through implementation and support.  Oversee the IT&S HRIS team of developers and analysts.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop consistent activation / implementation playbook for the implementation of business systems for new acquisitions
  • Establish IT&S / Operations ecosystem roles and responsibilities at corporate, market and hospital levels
  • Work with operational leadership to identify and integrate process standardization roadmap for business systems
  • Manages project implementation teams and ensures that the team follows and executes delivery methods for project success
  • Participates as key stakeholder on all acquisition related implementation projects involving Ardent business systems
  • Managing new hospital integration activities from concept through implementation onto Ardent’s related business systems
  • Ability to manage multiple implementation projects
  • Project Lead initiatives and communicates with business stakeholders on risk, issues and status
  • Enforces project deadlines and schedules and mitigates risk appropriately 
  • Oversees the communication activities in coordination with business stakeholders and IT&S leadership
  • Delivers informative, well-organized presentations
  • Prioritizes and resolves issues
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to introduce innovative solutions
  • Develops and fosters relationships with business stakeholders
  • Manages business stakeholder expectations effectively
  • Manages external contract personnel
  • Provide team oversight for the IT&S HRIS support team
  • Lead the support and maintenance of HRIS systems
  • Create roadmap for the review and migration of HRIS system support into IT&S


  • Bachelor’s Degree or graduate degree
  • 10+ years of project and management experience
  • 5 + years of Lawson system experience
  • 5 + years of experience implementing and consolidating systems across rapidly growing healthcare organizations
  • Self-motivated, quick and assertive

  • Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics
  • Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis
  • Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk
  • Manage client expectations, anticipates operational and tactical risks and tracks them
  • Clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to immediate manager where required
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, VISIO, Adobe Acrobat Professional
  • Stays abreast of current industry trends and new technology through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars
  • Experience managing Lawson implementations in a multi-hospital healthcare system is preferred
