Cardiac Technician

Shift: Variable
Schedule: PRN Per Diem

Essential Functions:

.        Aid in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and blood vessel issues

·        Review Cardiologist notes and patient documentation

·        Schedule appointments and monitoring patients' heart rates

·        Maintain and operate cardiac equipment as assigned by physician or per job  

          function

·        Explain test procedures to patients and identify problems in their test findings

·        Enter, maintain, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and filing

          claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

·        Greet, prepare, and take patients to examination room

·        Assisting the Practice Physician during examination and may be called upon to

         explain medical procedures to patients

·        In coordination with the Physician and other clinical staff, assist in maintaining

          inventory of all necessary supplies and inventory instruments

·        In coordination with the Physician and other clinical staff, assist in maintaining

          and stocking all equipment for all exam rooms and inventory. Maintains

          appropriate paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders received for

          completeness

·         Address and request referrals and other insurance authorizations. As well as,

          passing along patient information for prescription, x-ray or lab requisitions to

          necessary parties

·         Other office and clinical responsibilities, assigned by supervisor or Physician, as

          deemed necessary

Minimum Education

  • Associates Degree Required or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Minimum Work Experience

  • 3 – 5 years in a hospital or physician practice setting

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonoographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Registered Cardiovascular Certification (RCC)
  • Registered Vascular Certification (RVT)

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Able to communicate technical information clearly to patients of all ages
  • Required to remain current on events and terminology
  • Intermediate computer knowledge, writing and speaking skills
  • Ability to multitask, can work in a fast paced clinical environment, can engage patients, peers and supervisors in a dedicated, comforting, respectful and effective way and has the ability to adapt to change
