Clinical Lab Scientist

The clinical laboratory scientist is responsible for performing a variety of analyses, validating results, and reporting results.  The clinical laboratory scientist  is responsible for collecting specimens, running and evaluating quality control material, cleaning and maintaining analyzers and other equipment.  These responsibilities are carried out with appropriate understanding and application of human physiology and the priniciples of clinical laboratory sciences coupled with the ideals of quality improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field and completion of a clinical laboratory internship required.  A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.
  • Certification by ASCP, MLS (ASCP)CM preferred, MT (AMT), CLT (HEW), MLT (ASCP)CM  or registry eligible may also be considered. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete Board of Registry ASCP or AMT examination within first 6 months of employment.
  • MLS degree preferred
  • One year of generalist experience preferred
