We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Director of Nursing, Operating Room and Post Anesthesia Care Unit to join the Mountainside Team!

What You’ll Do

The Director of Nursing, Operating Room and Post Anesthesia Care Unit will assume responsibility and accountability for operations of the specified nursing units, which includes; staff performance, clinical quality, financial performance and patient care rendered during hours of operation.

 The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Responsible for collaborating in the development and implementation of growth strategies of the surgical service line through the identification of trends and volume studies

  • Provide input for education programs through assessment of staff needs

  • Create and monitor unit based indicators as mandated or necessary, integrating functions of standards development, continuing education, credentialing, performance appraisals, concurrent monitoring, utilization review, risk management, and active problem solving

  • Provide direction and support for the on-going development of the operating room and post anesthesia care units in partnership with key division personnel and hospital administrative teams

  • Collaborate with physicians to develop and foster positive working relationships

  • Work with decision support and IT to develop tracking and reporting mechanisms to monitor the progression of surgical service line development

  • Monitor and ensure surgical service line quality (e.g., clinical outcomes, credentialing/privileging, processes, services, satisfaction) aligns with division/market, and national quality standards

  • Ensure the application of Customer Service principles in meeting and exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers to provide satisfaction

  • Analyze department statistics on an ongoing basis to determine potential variances and make adjustments where necessary

  • Identify savings opportunities or revenue enhancements that add value to departmental or facility processes

  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required, Master’s degree preferred

  • New Jersey state RN license that is active and in good standing

  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience in an operating room setting

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the operating room space within an acute care facility

  • CNOR certification or willing to obtain it within one year of employment

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with proven track record of building and coaching successful teams
