We have an exciting opportunity to join our Information Technology team as a Network Engineer.

The Network Engineers’ responsibilities include maintaining and deploying wired and wireless IP network infrastructure for Ardent Health Services.  This encompasses creating network documentation, conducting site surveys, and troubleshooting network problems.   This position will work closely with other members of the Ardent technology team to support the overall mission of the company and its’ strategic business initiatives.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain and deploy Cisco wireless and wired networks in Ardent hospitals, clinics, and offices
  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers in design/implementation strategies
  • Create and maintain wireless/LAN  designs and documentation
  • Implement network hardware/software  per design standards
  • Ensure that proposed solutions comply to vendor best practices and align with the business

Requirements:

Education
  • Required-Associates’ degree in Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent technical training
  • Active CCNA certification required
  • Active CCNP certification or CWNA/CWNP are highly preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Information Systems, preferably in the healthcare industry
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Cisco routing, switching and wireless products
  • Configuration and troubleshooting experience with complex WLAN, LAN, and WAN networks
  • Design, deployment, and troubleshooting of Cisco WLAN networks
  • Working knowledge of spectrum analysis in the 2.4 and 5 GHz  bands
  • Working knowledge of Ekahau planning software
  • The configuration of Cisco Catalyst Switch Stacks
  • The configuration  of  WAN technologies including MPLS, DMVPN, and BGP
  • The configuration  of  LAN technologies including PVST, Ether-channel/Port Channels, VSS, VSL, Dot1.Q Trunking, and VTP
  • Proficient in the operation and analysis of LAN and WAN packet captures, and Network Analysis
  • Proficient with DNS, DHCP, configuration and  troubleshooting
  • Experience with route summarization
  • QOS/COS
  • Cisco ASA and Firepower
