OUR POSITION: We have an exciting opportunity to join our Risk Management team as a Risk Specialist.

The Risk Specialist supports the risk department regarding all aspects of the risk management program. Responsibilities include the development, implementation and application of risk metrics and methodologies and the monitoring, analysis and reporting of financial risk exposures. Manages auto program. Reports to carriers and manages claims typically not handled by third party administrators. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processes insurance verification and claims history request for providers.
  • Obtains and maintains all fleet information for all facilities.
  • Obtains and maintains all driver information for all facilities.
  • Runs MVRs for existing/new hire and alert facilities to problems
  • Maintains and updates safety fleet policy, ensuring facilities are adhering to policy.
  • Reports claims not typically handled by TPAs.
  • Reviews collated data to identify trends regarding accidents or occurrences, and recommends corrective action to management, if appropriate. Prepares reports to management regarding trends/patterns and findings.
  • Assists with litigation holds.
  • Assists Insurance Manager in preparing material necessary for renewal of insurance policies.
  • Assists Insurance Manager with schedules.
  • Participates on committees related to loss prevention/claims management as directed.
  • Prepared Bordereaux Report for EPL carriers.
  • Routinely updates the Risk Management website with current information and documents. Inspects the department website for any broken links and /or out-of-date information.
  • Support department needs.


Minimum of an Associate’s Degree required.


At least three (3) years’ experience with/exposure to risk management duties, preferably in a health care setting. 

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Must be proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • May be required to travel for special projects.
