Special Procedures Technologist

Schedule: Full - Time Regular

The Special Procedures Technologist is accountable to perform safe, timely and accurate radiologic procedures in the Endovascular/Interventional Radiology Laboratory, including invasive studies for diagnostic, therapeutic and operative purposes.  Performs procedures on patients and is conscious of radiation exposure and contrast media use.   Able to work in the Operating Room, utilizing the C-arm.   Communicates instructions to patients pertaining to examinations and preps, in an accurate and caring manner.   Prepares and administers necessary contrast materials under the direction of the Radiologist/Cardiologist.   Recognizes patient conditions warranting immediate attention and responds appropriately.

Must be a graduate of an AMA-approved school of radiology technology and be registered with ARRT.   Must have at least one year of special procedures experience and be experienced in the use of special procedures equipment and the handling of trauma cases and critical patients.   CPR and ACLS certification required.
