We have an exciting opportunity to join our Information Technology team as a Senior Business Intelligence Developer focusing on leading backend development with SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and other database application development tools in  a . Net environment.

This Senior BI Developer role will lead full life-cycle projects by providing technical expertise and project management skills. This is an excellent senior level opportunity that will also be heavily focused on providing direction and guidance to the development team.  Additionally, this Sr. level team member will be trained on EPIC, our electronic medical records software product solution. 

As a Senior BI Developer, this position is responsible for leading the design, development, support, and execution of applications and solutions that support internal and external Ardent Health markets and customers. This role will be responsible for understanding the core technical components of Ardent's applications, database, and interface architectures and developing solutions that drive increased productivity, engagement, and customer satisfaction. The position is also a critical contributor, along with our Director, to provide support to our development team. Our Development Team supports diverse applications across the Ardent enterprise spanning many technology platforms and serving all business units.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide leadership, technical expertise and support to BI developers on a variety of projects across the Business Intelligence department.  
  • Partner with Department Leadership to communicate, direct and execute on assigned projects. Lead development teams through project lifecycle and serve as technical adviser.
  • Design, architect, develop, and maintain SSIS packages and SSIS batch jobs involving complex source data which will be used to drive clinical and patient care decision making requiring the highest degree of quality and accuracy.
  • Participate in Ardent's future state data warehouse development and associated conversions of data from acquired facilities.
  • Responsible for operational stability and tuning and management of developed applications and tools.
  • Estimate projects and enhancements to existing or new interfaces as part of the project portfolio initiation process.
  • Mentor other developers as required and act as an SME where required.
  • Support Corporate / Divisional resources with functional support and modification and enhancement requests.
  • Respond to service requests in line with established SLAs and turnaround times.
  • Monitor and recommend required upgrades and enhancements to applications and infrastructure components of supported applications.
  • On-call support for critical applications.
 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Data Science or equivalent
  • 7+ Years of relevant experience designing and developing interactive data driven applications. Provide leadership, technical expertise and support to BI developers on a variety of projects across the Business Intelligence department. 
  • 5 years of experience leading enterprise-wide BI related projects through project inception to execution. 
  • Proven track record of developing well-architected solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Team player with a can-do approach to solving complex technical problems
  • Ability to consult with business leaders directly through the development of positive working relationships.
  • High degree of critical thinking along with the ability to be an innovative problem solver who works independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of designing and developing interactive data driven applications.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server development
  • Experience in the development of ETL processes, T-SQL (stored procedures, triggers, views)
  • Experience or Certifications in EPIC Data Models/Data Warehousing (Shared Clinical, Caboodle, or Clarity)
  • Experience with Visual Studio .NET technologies (MSDN, ASP, C#)
  • Experience with SSIS / SSRS architecture
  • Experience with Epic Systems or other EMR/EHR systems
  • Experience working within the healthcare industry
  • Experience with Windows O/S, TFS
  • Experience with MS SharePoint development
  • Experience in Healthcare IT / HL7 data standards.
  • Understanding of RUP, UML, OOAD, TOAD
