We have an exciting opportunity to join our ETL/Data Warehousing team as a Senior Oracle Developer focusing on backend development with PL/SQL and other data tools in an Oracle 11g/SQL Server blended environment. This is an excellent senior level opportunity that will also be heavily focused and trained on EPIC, our electronic medical records software product solution. 


As a Senior Oracle Developer, this position is responsible for the design, development, support, and execution of ETL processes that support the Ardent Health Data Warehouse environment. This role will be responsible for understanding the core technical components of Ardent's data warehouse and performing additional development task as necessary across a broad range of systems and technologies.

Essential Duties:

  • Architect, design, and develop ETL recommendations, solutions, and transition strategies that support the ongoing development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Enterprise HIE or clinical data repository, and Business Objects or other reporting / BI tools.
  • Participate in development of Ardent's health information exchange capabilities.
  • Responsible for operational stability and tuning / management of interface processes thereby ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery.
  • Estimate projects and enhancements to existing or new interfaces as part of project portfolio initiation process.
  • Mentor other ETL developers as required and act as an SME where required for interface and integration considerations.
  • Support Corporate / Divisional resources with functional support and modification / enhancement requests.
  • Ensure operational stability of ETL processes thereby providing data integrity, accuracy and timely delivery of information.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Data Science or equivalent


  • 7+ Years of relevant development experience in a data warehouse environment
  • 5+ Years as an Oracle developer
  • 4+ Years of PL/SQL or T/SQL development
  • Proven Track Record Developing ETL Solutions
  • Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, support).
  • Team player with a can-do approach to solving complex technical problems
  • Ability to consult with business leaders directly through development of positive working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ Years of relevant development experience in a data warehouse environment
  • 7+ Years as an Oracle developer
  • 6+ Years of PL/SQL or T/SQL development
  • Experience or Certifications in EPIC Data Models/Data Warehousing (Shared Clinicals , Caboodle, or Clarity)
  • Experience with data warehousing tools and methodologies (ERWIN, Oracle 11g, SQL Server)
  • Experience with UNIX and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with Business Objects
  • Experience with RUP, UML, OOAD, TOAD
  • Experience with BizTalk, Informatica, SSIS, SSAS and other MDM tools
  • Prior experience in Healthcare IT or with HIE development.
