This role will primarily focus on the development of the AHS Decision Support strategy as well as leading a team responsible for the production of financial, operational and statistical analysis and reporting.  A key indication of success will be the ability to build meaningful relationships with key leaders across the enterprise and use those to drive AHS Decision Support strategy. The VP of Decision Support must have a demonstrated track record of excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.  A successful candidate will have had significant experience with data management and data alignments to organizational strategy.  This individual must possess the ability to understand and articulate complex clinical, operational, financial, and organizational data with an ability to simplify for external communities.  A successful candidate should be thoroughly familiar with Oracle, Citrix, Microsoft BI, Epic, and Business Objects.

Examples of Responsibilities:

  • Develop the long-term strategy around the AHS Decision Support function and identify the key resources required
  • Develop credible and meaningful working relationships with all key AHS leader roles. Market-level relationships, in particular, are critical to communicating the AHS Decision Support’s role in their success
  • Support and attend various corporate and field department leader meetings, to secure a more robust view of company activity and data needs.
  • Present recommended data solutions to AHS leaders that support objectives and help improve performance and operational efficiency.
  • Thoroughly investigate the current data delivery set-up across the enterprise, and determine opportunities to optimize resources and talent.
  • Oversee and ensure effectiveness: software evaluation/recommendation, reporting, dashboards, models etc
  • Manage and lead corporate office based staff.
  • Travel out to AHS markets to support endeavors of key leaders (operations, clinical, physicians etc)
  • Develop the annual budget for the Decision Support department, and monitor the expenses against budget.
  • Develop a ‘current-year’ department strategy and communication plan.
  • Attend professional society events to keep skill sets sharp and up to date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Health Care Administration or Information Systems.
  • Master’s Degree and Certified Public Accounting experience preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience successfully applying technical skills in financial analysis, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Minimum 5+ years of healthcare management experience.
